Unlicensed California Lab Found to House Multiple Infectious Diseases
An unlicensed laboratory in Fresno County, California, was discovered to contain hazardous materials, lab mice, and medical waste. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) detected at least 20 potentially infectious agents, including coronavirus, HIV, hepatitis, and herpes, at the site. The warehouse was associated with Prestige BioTech, a company registered in Nevada but unlicensed for business in California. Authorities have cleared the area of hazardous materials but are still conducting investigations.
