The Russian Prosecutor-General's Office will investigate a video that allegedly shows a Ukrainian prisoner of war being beheaded. The footage has sparked international condemnation, with the UN Human Rights office in Ukraine saying it was "appalled." Meanwhile, the US imposed sanctions on more than 120 targets to put pressure on Russia for its aggression against Ukraine, and Britain confirmed $500 million in loan guarantees to Ukraine, bringing the total amount this year to $1 billion.

Zelenskyy denounces beheading video as Russian aggression in Ukraine continues.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced a video that appears to show the beheading of a Ukrainian prisoner of war by a Russian soldier. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba compared the footage to the infamous beheading videos posted by the so-called "Islamic State" group (IS) from Syria. Ukraine's deputy minister for foreign affairs Emine Dzhaparova has asked India for medical supplies and to invite Ukrainian officials to participate in G20 events. Russia conducted a successful test launch of an "advanced" intercontinental ballistic missile in the southern region of the country. Ukraine condemns Russia for beheading Ukrainian soldiers, compares them to ISIS.

Ukrainian officials have condemned Russian forces after a video circulating on social media appeared to show the beheading of a Ukrainian prisoner with a knife. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister described the video as “horrific” and labelled Russia “worse than ISIS”. The European Union also pledged to hold war criminals to account. The footage comes days after a separate video emerged on pro-Russian social media channels that appeared to show the bodies of two decapitated Ukrainian soldiers lying next to a destroyed military vehicle.
