Catch 2024's Final Supermoon: November's Beaver Moon Peaks Tonight
November's full moon, known as the Beaver Moon, is the last supermoon of 2024, peaking on November 15 at 4:29 p.m. EST. Named for the time when beavers prepare for winter, this supermoon will appear 6.2% larger and 12.8% brighter than the average full moon. Supermoons occur when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit, making it appear larger and brighter. The next series of supermoons will begin in October 2025.
