
GM and Hyundai invest billions in US battery plants with new partners.
General Motors (GM) has announced a partnership with Samsung SDI to invest over $3bn in building a new battery cell factory in the US, aimed at starting operations in 2025. The companies have not yet disclosed the location of the plant or the number of jobs it will create. The new joint venture will leverage the capital and technology of both companies to create new competitive advantages for GM, said Doug Parks, GM executive vice president of Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain.
