Director of cancelled Baten Kaitos III provides further explanation.

Yasuyuki Honne, the director at Monolith Soft for the Baten Kaitos series, has commented again on the cancelled Baten Kaitos III, revealing that it was targeted for next-gen platforms and that there were also plans for a DS version that was scrapped. The cancellation was due to Bandai Namco's restructuring and budget review, as well as tri-Crescendo's financial struggles. Despite this, Bandai Namco is releasing Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster on Switch this summer.
