"Ukrainian Families Await Captive Fighters' Release Amid Russia's Silence"

Families of Ukrainian soldiers, particularly those from the Azov Regiment, are anxiously waiting for news of their loved ones who are in Russian captivity. Despite ongoing prisoner exchanges, many soldiers remain detained, with suspicions that the Azov fighters are deliberately being held longer. The families endure a painful wait, with little information about the prisoners' well-being, and concerns about mistreatment and torture. Ukrainian officials are working to secure the release of all soldiers, while the families continue to advocate for their return.

Russian trial begins for Ukrainian Azov regiment POWs.

More than 20 Ukrainian soldiers, including eight women, who were taken prisoner during the battle to defend Mariupol from Russian forces have gone on trial in southern Russia. The soldiers were members of the Azov regiment, which Russia has designated as a "terrorist group." The defendants are facing charges of involvement in a terrorist organization and taking part in action to overthrow the Russia-backed authorities in the Donetsk region. They face sentences ranging from 15 years to life in prison if convicted. The Red Cross has visited 1,500 prisoners of war on both sides of the conflict and delivered around 2,500 personal messages between POWs and their families.
