UAW and Ford Reach Deal, Ending Auto Strike
The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has shared details of its tentative contract agreement with Ford Motor Company, which is four times more valuable than the previous agreement. The deal includes a 25% wage increase, shortened wage progression, reinstated cost of living adjustments, justice for temporary workers, enhanced profit sharing, boosts for retirees, job security, and investments in plants. The agreement is in the process of ratification, and if approved, it will set the precedent for similar deals with General Motors and Stellantis.
