The Anaheim City Council has approved Disneyland resort’s $1.9-billion expansion plan, marking the latest in a series of major investments by Disney at the 100-acre facility. From its humble beginnings in 1955, the resort has continually evolved, adding new attractions and entire worlds built around new franchises acquired by Disney. Recent expansions include Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the Avengers Campus, with significant investments in each.

Disneyland's $1.9 billion plan, called DisneylandForward, to bring new lands, attractions, hotel rooms, and entertainment to Anaheim has been approved by the city council. The project aims to evolve the way Disney entertains and bring immersive developments similar to those at other Disney parks. If approved, Disney will invest in theme park lodging and experiences, as well as contribute to affordable housing projects and city park improvements in Anaheim. The plan spans the next 40 years and could bring magical changes to Disneyland.

Disney has unveiled a new poster for the updated Star Tours – The Adventure Continues attraction, set to debut on April 5 at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris. The attraction will feature characters and locations from the Disney+ series “Ahsoka,” “The Mandalorian,” and “Andor,” including Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin, and Grogu. The update will coincide with the "Star Wars" Season of the Force event and will introduce new merchandise themed to Star Tours at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Kansas City's new Ferris Wheel, located in the Westside neighborhood, offers panoramic views of the city skyline, although the doors of the gondolas partially obstruct the view of the skyline. The Pokémon Company has announced the upcoming launch of 'PokéPark Kanto', a new attraction within the Yomiuriland amusement park in Tokyo, Japan. Universal Studios Japan has revealed the first details of the upcoming Donkey Kong Country area in Super Nintendo World, set to open in spring 2024. The main attraction will be Donkey Kong's Crazy Cart, a rollercoaster ride where players protect the Golden Banana from the Tiki Tak Tribe. Visitors will also have the opportunity to collect the K O N G letters using a Power-Up Band and track their collection through the official USJ mobile app. The expansion will make Super Nintendo World 1.7 times larger and will feature additional activities developed in partnership with Donkey Kong creator Shigeru Miyamoto.

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is set to reopen on November 6, 2023, after undergoing maintenance since March. The park will introduce new additions, including a Disney Water Park seasonal pass, specialty churro dishes, chicken wings, and peppermint milkshakes. The reopening date for Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, the other water park at Walt Disney World Resort, is yet to be announced.

SeaWorld will be opening new attractions at its three parks in Spring 2024, including a family-friendly coaster called "Penguin Trek" at SeaWorld Orlando, an interactive jellyfish exhibit called "The Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience" at SeaWorld San Diego, and the world's first "launched flume coaster" called "Catapult Falls" at SeaWorld San Antonio. Annual Pass members will have an exclusive preview of the attractions, and a portion of the proceeds will go towards rescue and conservation work.
