The Belmont Stakes, the third race in the Triple Crown, will be held at Saratoga Race Course in 2024 due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. The track in Elmont, New York, will undergo significant renovations, including replacing the grandstand and racecourses, and other races normally held at Belmont will be moved to Aqueduct in Queens. Saratoga will host the Belmont Stakes from June 6 to 9, 2024, as part of a special session that includes 23 stakes races. The race will be run at a shorter distance of 1¼ miles due to the track configuration at Saratoga. The renovations at Belmont are expected to continue beyond 2024, and the prize money for the 2024 Belmont Stakes will be increased to $2 million.
