Danny Fire in Antelope Valley 90% contained by firefighters.

Fatal Pursuit: Suspect Jumps from Stolen CHP Cruiser and Dies.

A man stole a California Highway Patrol cruiser while officers were responding to a crash on the northbound 5 Freeway at Hasley Canyon. He led officers on a high-speed chase before jumping out of the vehicle at 87th Street West and West Avenue D, hitting the roadway and dying from his injuries. The cruiser crashed into a light pole. The man's identity has not been released, and CHP is investigating how the cruiser was stolen.
