"Android Auto Enhances Home Screen with Flagging for Powerful Parked Apps"
Android Auto and Android Automotive OS are now labeling apps that only work in parked mode with a "P" badge on the home screen, indicating a move towards making the in-car interface more functional while parked. This update aims to address the frustration of limited app functionality when the car is stationary, with the hope of bringing back some of the usual "Android" power to Android Automotive. Google is also introducing a parked-only build of Chrome and starting to add video apps, such as PBS KIDS and Crunchyroll, to make the car computer more useful.
