"Israeli Hiker Unearths 2,800-Year-Old Assyrian Scarab Seal"

A hiker in Israel discovered a rare 2,800-year-old amulet in the Tabor Stream Nature Reserve in Lower Galilee. The amulet, made of carnelian, depicts a mythical griffin creature or a galloping winged horse and is believed to date back to the 8th century B.C. The discovery is considered one of the most important finds at the Biblical mound and archaeological site of Tel Rekhesh, possibly confirming the presence of Assyrian or Babylonian administration at the site.
