Broad Pecorino Romano cheese recall hits 20 states over Listeria risk
FDA warns of a Class 1 recall of more than 10,000 containers of grated Pecorino Romano cheese from multiple brands after routine testing found Listeria monocytogenes; the Ambriola Company initiated the recall, with products sold under Locatelli, Pinna, Boar’s Head, Sam’s, and Ambriola Piccante Pecorino Romano in 20 states (including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, California, and others). Consumers should discard the recalled cheeses or return them for refunds, and seek medical advice if symptoms of Listeria infection occur.
