Japan's Lunar Lander Crashes Due to Glitch.

The Japanese Hakuto-R Lunar lander crashed into the Moon due to a software bug caused by sensor fusion. The altitude sensor reported the altitude as much lower than it was, causing the craft to slowly descend until it ran out of fuel and plunged to the surface. The landing simulations were not re-run after the landing site was changed, leading to the crash. Remotely landing a robot on the Moon without GPS is a difficult task.
