A woman who had gastric bypass surgery to combat her eating disorder swapped her addiction to food with alcohol and died from alcohol poisoning. Her sister believes that her sibling suffered from a 'transfer addiction' and that there should have been more support for her following the procedure. Up to 30% of people may experience transfer addiction after surgery.
