Samsung is nearing the launch of its new rugged smartphone, the Galaxy XCover 7, which has been spotted in certification databases. The device is expected to feature a 4,000mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging, NFC, and 5G compatibility. Leaks suggest it will have a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, 6GB RAM, thinner bezels, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
OnePlus has officially announced the OnePlus 12, its flagship smartphone for 2024. The device features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, up to 24GB of RAM, and a camera system with a 50MP main sensor, 64MP periscope telephoto lens, and 48MP ultra-wide sensor. The display is a BOE AMOLED QHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits. Other notable features include a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, IP65 water resistance, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 12 will have a higher price compared to its predecessor, starting at ¥4,299 in China. The global launch is expected in late January.
Tropical Depression 6 has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, while another disturbance, known as Disturbance #4, is eyeing the Gulf of Mexico. Tropical Depression 6 is expected to weaken and poses no threat to land. Disturbance #4 is forecasted to move into the Gulf of Mexico in the next couple of days, with the potential to become a tropical depression. The west coast of Florida may experience rain. Two other areas of concern, Invest 90L and Invest 98L, are being investigated for possible tropical development. The chances of development for these disturbances range from 50% to 70%.
