"Tropical Storm Tammy Sparks Eastern Caribbean Tropical Storm Watches"

Tropical Storm Tammy has formed in the Atlantic, prompting Tropical Storm watches for the eastern Caribbean. The storm is expected to threaten the northern Leeward Islands with gusty winds and heavy rain. With 20 tropical storms and six hurricanes so far this season, the Atlantic hurricane season is running slightly above average. Tammy is currently located less than 700 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and is forecasted to gradually turn west-northwest. While some strengthening is anticipated, it is expected to remain below hurricane status. Tropical Storm watches have been issued for Barbados, Dominica, Martinique, and Guadeloupe. The storm is forecasted to approach the Lesser Antilles on Friday and could become a strong tropical storm.
