"Record-breaking East Coast snowstorm paralyzes Nova Scotia and Cape Breton"

Nova Scotia in Canada was hit by a days-long snowstorm, with some areas buried under up to 5 feet of snow. The storm brought widespread snow totals of well over a foot, with Halifax's airport recording just over 33 inches of snow. Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston assured that efforts to dig out are underway, with over 1,000 workers and 400 pieces of equipment being used to clear roads. While the snow has tapered off, snowplows are still struggling to clear the tremendous amount of snow, and it will be days before some rural roads are cleared.
