Freezing conditions and snowfall are expected to continue in parts of the UK over the weekend, with temperatures dropping to nearly -10C (14F). The wintry weather has caused traffic disruptions, school closures, and health alerts in several regions. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice along the east coast of England, Scotland, and parts of southwest England. Despite the cold conditions, this year has been one of the hottest autumns on record in the UK.
