Neuschwanstein Castle seeks UNESCO recognition after successful referendum.

Residents in Schwangau, Germany have voted in favor of designating Neuschwanstein Castle as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The castle, which is one of Germany's most popular tourist attractions, will now be submitted for consideration to UNESCO in Paris in 2024. Neuschwanstein Castle is said to be the inspiration for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle and is a mixture of various styles that included towers, chapels, and arches.
