Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko has broken the world record for the most time spent in space, surpassing his compatriot Gennady Padalka with over 878 days in orbit. Kononenko, currently aboard the International Space Station, is expected to reach 1,000 days in space on June 5 and 1,110 days by late September. He expressed pride in his achievements and emphasized his love for space exploration over setting records. Despite the physical challenges of weightlessness, he highlighted the emotional toll of missing out on family life during extended missions.
