Terry Gou Steps Down from Foxconn Board to Pursue Taiwan Presidency

Terry Gou, the billionaire founder of Foxconn and major Apple supplier, has resigned as a board member of the company, just days after announcing his bid for the Taiwanese presidency. Gou, who stepped down as Foxconn's chairman in 2019, cited "personal reasons" for his resignation. He is running as an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential election, but his poll numbers currently lag behind the ruling Democratic Progressive Party's front-runner, William Lai. Gou's entry into the race has raised concerns about splitting the anti-DPP vote.
