Russian Court Sentences Putin Critic to 25 Years for Treason.

Russian opposition politician Vladimir Kara-Murza has been sentenced to 25 years in jail by a Moscow court after being found guilty of treason and discrediting the Russian army. Kara-Murza, who holds Russian and British passports, has been a vocal critic of President Vladimir Putin and has lobbied Western governments to impose sanctions on Russia for human rights violations. He denied the charges against him and compared his trial to Josef Stalin's show trials in the 1930s. Kara-Murza had previously fallen ill twice in what he claimed were poisonings by the Russian security services.
