Real Chance of Peace Deal Between Azerbaijan and Armenia at Europe Summit

Azerbaijan's envoy to France has said that a peace settlement between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh territory could be signed at a European summit next week. The leaders of the two countries are due to hold high-level talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the summit. The conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh has been ongoing since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, and in 2020, Azerbaijan seized control of areas that had been controlled by ethnic Armenians.
