Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif claims victory in Pakistan's national elections, stating that his party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has emerged as the largest in the vote but falls short of the majority needed to form a government. Sharif's party won 61 seats, below the 133 required, and will now discuss forming a coalition government with other political parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party.
