The US Navy and UK Royal Navy responded to a distress call from a merchant ship in the Strait of Hormuz after it was "harassed" by three fast-attack vessels with armed troops aboard from Iran's Revolutionary Guard. The incident comes amid a series of maritime incidents involving Iran following the US's withdrawal from Tehran's nuclear deal in 2018. The Strait of Hormuz sees 20% of the world's oil pass through it.
