US accuses Russia of violating New START Treaty.

The United States Department of State has accused Russia of noncompliance with the New START Treaty, which requires both parties to accept inspections, meet in the Bilateral Consultative Commission, and provide notifications and data. Russia's claimed suspension of the treaty is legally invalid, and the United States remains ready to work constructively with Russia to fully implement the treaty. The United States is in full compliance with the treaty, and there is nothing preventing Russia from conducting inspections on U.S. territory. Russia's war in Ukraine does not provide a valid basis for noncompliance with the treaty.
