Tensions rise as Poland fears potential nuclear threat from Russia in Ukraine

Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that Russia is unlikely to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine due to the collective control over Russia's nuclear arsenal. However, he expressed concern about the possibility of an incident at a Ukrainian nuclear power plant, citing the greater threat of a nuclear accident. Duda recalled the Chernobyl disaster and highlighted recent violations of nuclear safety principles by Russian forces at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is currently under Russian control.
