Somalia Accuses Ethiopia of Attempted Annexation and Summit Interference

Somalia accuses Ethiopia of attempting to annex part of its territory by signing a sea access deal with the breakaway region of Somaliland, granting Ethiopia the right to build a port and naval base along Somaliland's coast. The deal also involves Ethiopia recognizing Somaliland, which Somalia still claims as its own. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud accused Ethiopian security forces of trying to block him from attending an African Union summit, while AU Commission chief Moussa Faki Mahamat described the feud as one of many difficulties facing the continent.
