"Israeli Strike in South Lebanon Kills Senior Hamas Leader Amid Political Squabbling Over War Budget"

An Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon killed a member of Hamas from the nearby Palestinian camp of Rashidieh, identified as Hadi Mustafa, and a Syrian man. The Israeli military called Mustafa a "significant" Hamas operative, alleging he was responsible for attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide. Hamas has a political and military presence in Lebanon, and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel in October in support of Hamas. Israel has been carrying out strikes in Lebanon, mostly confined to the border region but increasingly spreading further north and east.
