Chinese Premier pledges enhanced cooperation with Pakistan under BRI and CPEC

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has expressed China's readiness to promote deeper cooperation with Pakistan under the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). During a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Li called for joint advancement of major projects under the CPEC to promote high-quality development of the corridor and contribute to the economic and social development of both countries. The two sides also discussed the need to uphold international fairness and justice and safeguard the common interests of China and Pakistan as well as other developing countries.
