China extends Belt and Road initiative to Afghanistan, urges Pakistan and Afghanistan to combat terrorism.

China and Pakistan have agreed to extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a part of the Belt and Road initiative, into Afghanistan. The move is expected to pave the way for investment of billions of dollars for infrastructure projects in the country, which is facing an economic crisis. The two sides also agreed to continue their humanitarian and economic assistance for the Afghan people and enhance development cooperation in Afghanistan. The countries also reviewed bilateral relations, including in political, strategic, economic, defense security, education, and cultural domains.
