Ukraine has condemned Russia's intention to hold presidential election voting in the occupied regions of Ukraine, stating that any such balloting would be "null and void." The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to condemn Russia's plans and impose sanctions on those involved. Russian authorities are still considering whether to arrange voting in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, which were illegally annexed by Russia in 2022. Russia plans to hold the presidential election in the illegally annexed Crimean Peninsula.
