Ukrainian soldier Illia Mykhalchuk recounts how he was captured by Russian troops and had both his arms amputated without stitches by mercenaries from the Wagner Private Military Company. Mykhalchuk describes the brutal treatment he endured, including being shot in the legs, having his tourniquets replaced with rubber tubes, and being subjected to hours-long interrogations and psychological torture. He believes his left arm could have been saved if not for the necrosis caused by the rubber tubes. Mykhalchuk was eventually released and is currently undergoing treatment in the United States with bionic prosthetic arms.
