Hiroshima's Pancake and G-7 Summit Draw Attention

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak tried Hiroshima's famous okonomiyaki during his visit for the G7 summit and declared it "delicious". Okonomiyaki is a savoury Japanese pancake made with batter, cabbage, noodles, and meat, and is considered "soul food" in Japan. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is layered before cooking, while in Osaka, the ingredients are mixed together first. Hiroshima is home to over 800 okonomiyaki restaurants, and some rolled out special versions ahead of the G7 summit to cater to foreign tastes.
