Rising human-wildlife conflict claims 10 lions in Kenya.

Ten lions were killed in Kenya last week, including one of the country's oldest, as human-wildlife conflict escalates. Six lions were speared by herders after they killed 11 goats in Kajiado county, while the oldest lion, Loonkiito, wandered out of the Amboseli national park in search of food and was killed by herders. The government and conservation groups have a compensation program for herders whose livestock is killed by wild animals, but herders have become more protective after losing livestock to a drought.
