Archaeologists in Norway have discovered that a huge burial mound on the island of Leka, believed to be the final resting place of ancient King Herlaug, actually conceals the oldest known ship grave in Scandinavia. The mound, dating back to around 700, predates the Viking age and challenges previous understanding of ship building and maritime expertise.
