Ancient Peruvian Mummy Unearthed with Intact Brown Hair

A 1,000-year-old mummy with long brown hair has been found in an underground funeral chamber at the Huaca Pucllana site in Lima, Peru. The mummy, believed to be from the pre-Hispanic Ychsma culture, was discovered in a seated position with bent legs, alongside ceramic jars and fabrics. The gender of the mummy is still unknown. The Huaca Pucllana site, located in the affluent Miraflores district, has already yielded several mummies and artifacts, and is considered an important archaeological site in the heart of Lima.
