1,000-year-old adolescent mummy discovered in Peru.

Archaeologists in Peru have discovered the mummy of a teenager who lived more than 1,000 years ago in an underground tomb near Lima. The mummy was found wrapped in a funerary bundle, along with ancient ceramics and rope. The discovery was made at a burial site known to house the remains of victims of human sacrifice from pre-Inca times. The mummified teen is believed to have lived between 1,100 and 1,200 years ago and possibly belonged to the Lima or Ichma cultures. The Cajamarquilla complex, where the discovery was made, was a busy trading hub in pre-Inca times and features the ruins of four pyramids and walls laid out like a maze.
