RFK Jr. Considers Independent Run, Defying Democratic Primary

Anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to drop his Democratic primary bid for president and announce an independent or third-party run. Kennedy, a member of the famous Democratic Kennedy family, has better favorability ratings among Republicans but it remains to be seen if GOP support would translate to a general election against former President Donald Trump. Kennedy has accused the Democratic National Committee (DNC) of rigging the primary against him and has built relationships with far-right figures in recent years. He is known for his vocal distrust of COVID-19 vaccines and his anti-vaccine organization, Children's Health Defense, has a lawsuit pending against news organizations, including The Associated Press.
