US Deploys Second Carrier Strike Group and Fighter Jets as Israel Expands Gaza Operations

Eisenhower, to the eastern Mediterranean Sea, while also deploying Air Force fighter jets to the region, as Israel prepares to expand its operations in Gaza. The US warships and aircraft are not intended to participate in the fighting but are meant to send a message of deterrence to Iran and its proxies in the region. The US has clarified that there are no plans to put American troops on the ground in Israel, and a Marine Expeditionary Unit is making preparations in case it is ordered closer to Israel.
