Mid America Pet Foods has expanded its voluntary recall of pet food products due to a Salmonella outbreak. The recall now includes various brands of dog and cat foods with Best By dates before 10/31/24. Consumers are advised to dispose of the recalled pet food and clean all pet supplies and areas potentially contaminated. Salmonella can cause illness in humans and pets, particularly those with weakened immune systems. The investigation into the outbreak is ongoing, with seven human cases reported, including six in children under the age of one.
