COVID Cases Surge in Workplaces and States: Updates on Outbreaks, Testing, and Shutdowns

Los Angeles County has seen a rise in reported workplace outbreaks of COVID-19 as case numbers slowly increase. The county opened 73 new investigations of COVID-19 outbreaks in the past 30 days, nearly three times the previous period. Additionally, there has been a 43% increase in school outbreaks. The county emphasizes the importance of following safety measures such as staying home when sick, frequent handwashing, testing when exposed or ill, and wearing masks. While case numbers and hospitalizations have increased, daily deaths have remained mostly flat due to vaccination rates and available treatments.
