"Archaeological Discovery: 14 Skeletons Unearthed in Ancient Scottish Tomb"

Archaeologists have discovered an "incredibly rare" 5,000-year-old tomb on one of the Scottish Orkney Islands. The Neolithic-era tomb, considered a pinnacle of engineering in northern Britain, was largely destroyed in the 19th century. Only 12 such tombs have been found in Orkney. The excavation revealed a large stone chamber surrounded by six smaller rooms, where 14 articulated skeletons of men, women, and children were found, along with other human remains and artifacts. The tomb's preservation is remarkable given that much of its stone was used for building material.
