New AI technology can diagnose childhood autism with 100% accuracy by analyzing retinal photographs. Researchers used a deep learning algorithm to screen 1,890 images of children's retinas, training the AI system on 85% of the images. The remaining 15% were used for testing, resulting in a perfect diagnosis rate. This non-invasive method shows promise as an objective screening tool for early autism diagnosis, particularly in areas with limited access to specialists.
