Beware of Malicious Android Apps with Over 600K Downloads

Fleckpe, a new Android subscription malware, has been discovered on Google Play disguised as legitimate apps and downloaded over 620,000 times. The malware generates unauthorized charges by subscribing users to premium services, with threat actors receiving a share of the subscription fees. Most victims reside in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Poland. Android users who have installed the malicious apps are advised to remove them immediately and run an AV scan. To protect against these threats, Android users are advised to only download apps from trusted sources and developers and pay attention to the requested permissions during installation.
