Google's Gemini AI set to surpass ChatGPT.

Google's DeepMind is developing a new AI system called Gemini that combines the strengths of AlphaGo-type systems with the language capabilities of large models like GPT-4. Gemini is still in development and could cost tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis says the new team will bring together two powerhouses that have been foundational to the recent AI progress. However, Hassabis also acknowledges the potential risks of AI and believes more research needs to be done to determine how capable and controllable new AI models are.
