"Stargazers Unite: Shenandoah Night Sky Festival Showcases Perseid Meteor Shower"

The Shenandoah Night Sky Festival in Shenandoah National Park is expected to draw a large crowd this year due to the occurrence of the Perseid meteor shower. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness up to 60 falling stars per hour and enjoy the view of the Milky Way. Former astronaut Tom Jones will give presentations on defending Earth from asteroids and humanity's future in space. The festival runs from August 11-13, with the main events taking place on Saturday night at Big Meadows. Admission to the park is required, but all events are free. Visitors are advised to dress warmly and bring a red flashlight for night sky viewing.
