Chinese Rocket's Moon Collision Reveals Mysterious Payload

A study conducted by a team of aerospace and mechanical engineers suggests that the WE0913A moon impactor, which crashed onto the lunar surface on March 4, 2022, was a Chinese booster rocket with an unknown object attached. The researchers had been tracking the impactor for seven years prior to its crash and determined that it was a booster rocket for the Chang'e 5-T1 mission. The lack of wobbling in its trajectory indicated that Chinese engineers had attached something to the shell opposite the engine, resulting in a double crater upon impact. The nature of the booster and the attached object has not been confirmed by China.
