Rare Albino Shark Spotted in Albanian Waters

A rare ghostly white angular roughshark with leucism, a genetic disorder affecting pigmentation, was discovered off the coast of Albania. This is the first recorded case of leucism in this species, which is critically endangered. The shark was caught at a depth of 656 feet near Sazan Island. Despite its unusual coloration, the shark's health appeared unaffected, suggesting that pigment disorders may not significantly impact deep-sea sharks' survival. The discovery highlights the need for further research on the effects of human threats on marine life.
